The model 5100 is the first minicomputer from company IBM built in the late 70s of last century, virtually no other computer had his performances.

IBM 5100 is advertised as the first laptop in the world who was 50 pounds heavy. He was introduced in 1977, and which ad to today’s standards and operates is more than funny.

You see a small portable computer named IBM 5100. He helps a lot of different people to be more productive in their work, it’s says in the ad.

IBM 5100 is a complete system with a keyboard, built-in memory and screen, but was almost ten times heavier compared to today’s models.

And what’s even more amazing is precisely its price, which ranged from 8975 to 19,975 dollars, depending on the amount of memory that was in it.
